The Buddy Bar in Santa Maria on the island of Sal, was damaged by fire last week. The fire started mid-afternoon on Sunday 7 May 2023. The firefighters took several hours to extinguish and sadly the bar was destroyed. The full extent of the damage has not yet been assessed. The cause of the fire is being investigated but it is thought that the cause might have been an electrical fault. Buddy Bar was a popular venue with tourists and offered live music and a great atmosphere.
